Burton McMahon, George’s Vineyard, Chardonnay, Yarra Valley, 2022

Pale straw in hue. Nougat, fig, sweet cedar oak, cafe latte, plenty of struck flint and meaty sulphides, white flowers, short bread biscuity base, just ripe stone fruit, orange zest and lemon tart. Presence, with deft touches. Medium-full with juicy and refreshing acidity. The oak provides a creamy, cedary note heading to savoury. Light stone fruit and deep citrus are clean and bright. The tail delicate and long. Another fine release.
