Part of Howard Park’s Distinguished Sites range and the brother to the Leston. The Scotsdale is sourced from the famed Abercrombie vineyard in Mount Barker sub-region of Great Southern. Parcels were fermented in small open top fermenters and closed stainless steel before 18 months maturation in French oak (~25% new).

Medium to deep garnet. Nose of cassis and pencil shavings with bay leaf spice, gravel, warmed tea bun, ferrous blood, black olive, bitter cooking chocolate and a meaty pan juice savoury/umami quality. Medium bodied with dusty dark berry fruit underwritten with gravel, cedary oak spice and black olive. The tannins front and centre and slightly chunky. Framework for eating with protein now or hold for 5 years to completely integrate.
