d’Arenberg, The Footbolt, Shiraz, McLaren Vale, 2021

Deep garnet hue. Big globs of plum jam and blackberry to boysenberry fruit, plenty of licorice, hints of vanilla and cocoa, McLaren Vale mineral coolness and a little meaty dog fart depth. Silky and plush with the right amount of shiny red over the inky, savoury dark base and held firm with sheet of grippy, sandy tannin. Medium length but plenty of character.
