Taylors Estate, Tempranillo, McLaren Vale, Clare Valley, 2022

I like the regional blend here. Plushness of McLaren Vale with the herbal intrigue of Clare. Rioja-lite: Bitter herbs, deep cherry, warm plum and singed orange zest with cola syrup, tobacco leaf and milk chocolate. Medium full with plenty of silky red fruits, kissed by easy tannin and some surprising acidity. Dark herbal tones give a suave finish over cola/choc sweetness. Perfect with bbq Portobello Mushrooms or sticky lamb ribs.
