From Orange, New South Wales. The 30+ year old vineyard situated at 980 metres above sea level.
Colmar Estate, Block 1, Pinot Noir, Orange, 2022

Medium deep ruby. Heady, deep and spiced. Plenty of red fruits: Cherries, strawberries and raspberries. Hints of vanilla from the oak, stalky spice, dried rose petals, turned earth, ganache and rooibos tea. Immediately more plush than its sibling, the Block 3. Presence and structure. Depth of fruit peeling back layers. Echoes of bitter orange and stalky spice. Powdery tannins and neat persistence. Staying savoury and regionally tight. A little time in bottle or a decanter to allow this open fully.
