Gundog Estate Indomitus Rosa 2023

A change in fruit for this year’s release of Matt Burton’s Indomitus Rosa: Cabernet Sauvignon from Canberra region and Shiraz from both Canberra and Hilltops. Pretty much a 50/50 split, pressing off after 12 hours on skins with natural ferment in tank and barrel.

Gundog Estate, Indomitus Rosa, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, Canberra, Hilltops, 2023

Unique colour, pale ruby to cerise. Aromatic and lifted. Turkish Delight, bluestone, strawberry jam, guava, chalk, bramble, flint and ruby grapefruit. Deliciously silky front and middle palate, pushing long with power and depth. Plenty of layers to peel back, giving compulsion to explore the next. Complex and full, this is beyond any wan attempt at lunchtime fun juice. A contemplative rosa/rosé that deserves attention.
