Briar Ridge is in the southern part of the Hunter Valley and on the elevated Mount View rd. Part of a greater stable that includes Pepper Tree with ownership by the Davis family. Fermentation with natural yeast for 10 days in a combination of old oak and stainless steel. 3 months maturation on yeast lees. Winemaker is Alex Beckett.
Briar Ridge, Dairy Hill, Semillon, Hunter Valley, 2023

Opens more generous than the 2022. Almost stone fruit richness under lemony citrus zest and pith. A spiced nuance akin to lime pickle nearing white pepper. Plenty of flinty minerally drive and length. Hunter Valley thrust tempered with the right amount of textural build and youthful approachability. Has structure to age, but absolutely ready to be enjoyed now.
