Wild fermented and Vegan friendly. Given Yalumba vineyards, I reckon this is a fine blend of Barossa and Riverland fruit. Winemaker is Andrew La Nauze.

Yalumba, The Y Series, Shiraz, South Australia, 2022

Deep garnet hue. Rich blue plum and spice nose. Plenty of Christmas cake/baking spices and fine gravel, regardless still fresh and uplifting. Smooth and satin palate. Blue to black fruit with roundness and sweetness. There’s spice and darkness, but all confectionary-like without the structure and tannin required to make this a top quality value option. Cloying and opulent, yet the quality of fruit gives a nudge on the points, finishing all bluestone, raspberry jube and Barossa hugs.
