Part of the Hill Smith Family Estates (also home of Yalumba). Often found much cheaper in retail land. The 2024 has just been released, but plenty of this vintage will be out there. Made by the renowned Sam Wigan.  Vegan friendly if that’s your thing.

Earthworks, Riesling, South Australia, 2023

Plenty of white florals, green apple skin, lime flesh, pineapple chunks, teacher’s chalk and wet sand. Easy profile: balanced and varietal. Balanced fruit with brightness and youthful approach. Some texture and structure the speaks to the quality of winemaking for the price point, but missing intensity and focus of some its stablemates. Spot on for a bistro matching of the fish n’ chips special of the day.
