Taylors St Andrews Chardonnay 2022

While Riesling is the undisputed white king in the Clare, the region does have very good Chardonnay credentials. 100% French oak fermented and 14 months maturation in Burgundian Louis Latour French oak (80% new & 20% 1 year old).

Taylors, St Andrews, Chardonnay, Clare Valley, 2022

Pale straw in colour with a green highlight. Toasty oak with savoury, nutty dominance over peachy stone fruit, sweet barley sugar, sliced white bread crust with rich buttery tones (heck, let’s just say fairy bread!) and flecks of gun flint and sunshine lemon dish-washing liquid. Elegant and well crafted. Medium flesh in the buttery/peachy mode with soft savoury phenolics and a clean clip of acidity. Medium length and balanced persistence.
