Part of the Distinguished Sites range. Sourced from two old blocks of 1949 and 1929 vines in the Yalumba Tri-Centenary block on the valley floor. For vintage 2023, the two blocks were again wild fermented separately – one with 40% whole bunch, the second 33% whole bunches and then matured for 6 months in older French oak puncheons.
Yalumba, Vine Vale, Grenache, Barossa Valley, 2023

Oh, delicious. It’s all blue fruit and black cherry, with a little dark raspberries for undertone, lavender and rosemary flowers, crushed gravel, just fired shotgun, Campari-like bitter orange heading to jaffa (choc/orange) with an echo of drying pine needles. Silken and evocative up front. Hyperfine tannins that flow effortlessly to a juicy and crunchy tail. Fantastic value.
