Fruit from Brycefield, Keith Tulloch and Tinkler’s School Block vineyards in Pokolbin. All vineyards are light clay-loamy soils, the kind that Semillon likes sticking its feet into. Winemaking is also “Vegan Friendly” if that’s important to you, along with Gundog being Carbon Neutral for the third year in a row
Gundog Estate, The Chase, Semillon, Hunter Valley, 2024

Very pale and pure hue. Citrus and tropical/Asian fruits: lemongrass, carambola (star fruit), Tahitian lime, white small birthday candle wax, a touch of pretzel (yeast and salt), yellow apple and lingering lemon peel. Carries a little phenolic weight (which gives a slightly floury texture) to balance the intensity. Detailed persistence of flavour which has all the hallmarks pointing to a long life ahead.
