The mainstay of Castle Rock Estate’s Rieslings since 1986. All estate fruit that is machine picked from a blend of all 6 Riesling blocks. Only free run juice used from the press before a cool ferment in stainless steel with an inoculated yeast.
Castle Rock Estate, Riesling, Porongurup, 2024
Very pale lemon hue. All smiles for the smells of florals (chamomile, star jasmine) and green citrus (lime pith, juice), a touch of fly spray, fresh linen and white stones. Not quite as generous on the palate as the nose suggests, but displaying signature fine lines and intensity. Fruit tips into green papaya before a more-ish purity of structure holds the reins. Acid is neatly balanced and dries the tail up nicely. Bring on the flash fried whitebait.
