A fairly recent addition to the line up of Rieslings from CRE. Rob Diletti gets his family name on the label and gets to have some fun in the winery. Machine harvested. Only free run juice used from the press before settling then racked to barrel with some solids. Fermentation and maturation in old French oak puncheons on lees for 10 months (minimal stirring).
Castle Rock Estate, Diletti, Riesling, Porongurup, 2023

Very pale lemon hue. Richer creamy tones to the nose with a hint of ghee and almond butter underneath limey citrus and chamomile and elderflower. Textural, without forsaking the purity of Riesling. Just a little grip with a long, complex tail that meanders through limes and grapefruit and flinty mineral flecks. Absolutely bone dry and lip smackingly good.
