Bos being Latin for Bull, at the heart of the Reschke story. From blocks planted in 1998. Destemmed and a light crush on the way through to small batch open fermenters (twice daily pump overs) before being pressed off to tank to complete MLF. Then off to a mix of French and American Oak barrels and hogsheads. Medium maturation done for you.
Reschke, Bos, Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, 2016
Still vibrant and dark ermine in hue. Choc mint, young eucalyptus leaves, cedar, mocha and pastille. There’s varietal pouch tobacco, some bluestone and olive tapenade. Palate full and structured, while the quality vintage holds the frame well. Tannins have started to knit but still cast a wide weave. Plenty of dark fruits, mocha flavour and a clean, bright finish. A ‘mature’ release, but still with a bit in the tank.
