Angullong from Orange, New South Wales release their first Reserve Chardonnay. This is evolution from their valued Fossil Hill range. Hand harvested fruit, fermentation in older French oak, then 10 months maturation prior to another 6 months resting in bottle.
Angullong, Crossing Reserve, Chardonnay, Orange, 2023
Light straw in hue. Brown spice and yellow apple flesh, hay bale, oak seasoning, sliced bread crust, a touch of hazelnut nougat, peach flesh, preserved lemon richness, orange blossom, grilled lime, peanut oil and a little eggshell. Fine concentration of crisp regional fruit balanced with winemaking influences. Up front and middle palate richness and spice, tapering neatly into a tight tail. Gentle phenolics add some texture and grip.
