Running With Bulls are the Hill-Smith Family Estate’s Iberian fun and tasty range. Slight tweak to the labelling (previously ‘Garnacha’: Espanola for Grenache). Made by young(ish) gun Sam Wigan. Wild ferment. Small amount of whole bunches in the ferment. Joven style, no wood. 5% Tempranillo seasoning. Could even handle a slight chill.
Running With Bulls, Grenache, Barossa, 2023
Bright and fresh: Cherries and raspberry jelly crystals. Blueberry jam, woody spice, a little fennel, pink apple, lavender flower, spiced sweet bun and ‘spearmint’ lollies. Clean, bright and fresh…perky even. A little tacky grip from the whole bunches to support a fruit forward style with neat herbaceous coda. Nothing serious but very enjoyable to match a plate full of your favourite tapas.
