The Jaraman series sees blending from prime regions for the varieties. While the reds get the rightful praise, the white releases sail under the radar a little. Here we have the cool Adelaide Hills (South Australia) and maritime Margaret River (Western Australia)
Taylors, Jaraman, Cabernet Sauvignon, Margaret River, Adelaide Hills, 2024
Very pale straw in hue with distinct green edges. Ripe fruit: all melon and gooseberry with dewy grass, passionfruit, passiona™, green apple slices, fresh oregano, minerally/flinty reduction and lemon rind. The yin/yang of the regions. Fuller Marg River flesh shows up front opulence before steely and tight Adelaide Hills acid drive (which tingles like a ‘Thirst’ Life Saver™) through the tail. That flinty/mineral strike continues through a medium length. Will please SB fans, but there’s a touch of ‘dry white’ structure that prevents it from shining bright for me.
