I’ve long been a fan of this wine, I love the savoury nature that is unapologetic in style.

Longview, Macclesfield, Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills, 2024

Pale lemon to gold in colour. A mix of savoury and cool aromas: Barley sugar, preserved lemon, dusty lime skin, salted crisps/chips, ginger snap biscuits, hessian, chamomile, wax paper and grapefruit. A powerful Chardonnay: flesh and intrigue. Plenty of those savoury elements in a serious, textural mode counterpointed with a fine vibrancy of cool acidity.
