Russell & Suitor, Ladera, Chardonnay, Tasmania, 2024

Medium lemon. Greengage, lemonade, lime cordial, butter wrapper, damp oak, crumpet, leather and stone fruit. Medium bodied. Waxy oak tannin providing a mouth coating experience, while the fruit doesn’t quite have enough weight to fill it. There’s a flat and square finish of lemon curd that doesn’t shape properly to drive long and bright. A bit all over the place and showing the artifice over fruit.
