From the very most southern tip of Burgundy in the Mâconnais sub-region around the town of Mâcon. Imported into Australia by Mezzanine and to be found in good retail stores.
Coeur des Sages, Mâcon Villages, Chardonnay, Burgundy, 2023
Pale lemon gold hue with green highlights. Lemon tart, grapefruit, turned sandy earth, pear slices, white blossom, ginger biscuit, sandalwood, some richer tropical fruit, quince and honeyed tones. Savoury and crisp under the hood. Carrying some salt brine to offset grapefruit, honey and stone fruit, but ultimately its tight and racy nature lends it to being aperitif friendly. Serve with nori rolls, fried calamari or school prawns.
