From the heart of the Coal River Valley in Tasmania, the Charles Reuben Estate vineyard was planted in 1989. There’s only a handful of proper Cab Sauv vineyards in Tassie, but climate change will fix that in the next generation. Charles Reuben Estate, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tasmania, 2022

Deep garnet hue. Varietal aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, choc/mint, roasted green capsicum, turned earth, chomped cigar butt, bramble and cherry. Medium bodied. Tart cherry and blackcurrant flavours, with a mesh of astringent tannins and French oak swaddling. Ready to drink now.
