The class of Tapanappa

Tapanappa continually express beautifully crafted works of wine. There’s no doubting the quality and class of Tapanappa, Croser Family’s wine company which covers vineyards from the first family plantings in the Adelaide Hills, south to maritime influenced Foggy Hill and east  the underestimated soils of Wrattonbully on the edge of the famed Coonawarra.

Tapanappa ‘Tiers’ Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills 2013

tapanappa_tiers_vineyard_2013_chardonnay

Exquisite peach stone fruit and classy fresh oak spice. Lemon rind zesty smells. The long, long flavoured palate brings more ripe stone fruit, lime spectrum tight citrus and fine quartz rock ‘minerality.’

Ballet dancer-like lightness and power. Quality on display from beginning to end.

RRP: $75

Alc: 13.8%

Tapanappa ‘Foggy Hill’ Pinot Noir, Fleurieu Peninsula  2013

Cork. Spice and mahogany. Black cherry fruit and cherry pips. Dark fruit driven, yet a ‘coolness’ to the nose with a graphite/minerally hint. Perfumed, exotic and heady.

A fist in a glove: The future of the flesh masked behind structure for the moment. Espys of that cherry fruit, hints of savoury/meaty dovetail into that marked, primary cool-night acid that gives a red apple crisp finish.

RRP: $49

Alc: 13.9%
