I sampled this wine at the winery with David in the days after it had been pressed and the colour was deep purple, vibrant and electric…like a panther getting ready for Mardi Gras.
Lowe Wines, Block 8, Shiraz, Mudgee, 2012
Natural yeasts and American oak for 2 years. Dry grown Vineyard.
Tight, lean, miserly almost on the nose with effort to coax Pepperberry, plum jam and beetroot chocolate cake. Silty tannins and juicy acidity with vibrant powerful black/plum fruit. Powerful and earthy, yet slinky and alive. Just made for laying down….or laying in wait. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.
RRP: $35
Alc: 13%
