New clothes (label) for the Parson. Keeping the historical links to the old label (think stained glass window icon), plus giving a sense of place with the bottom info wrapping…I like the way the white font also acts as a dog collar. Have no fear when choosing these wines for top value under $20.
Chapel Hill, The Parson, Shiraz, McLaren Vale, 2014
Instant Chapel Hill. Dark chocolate, raspberry and a blackberry fruit core, all wrapped in ink and iodine. Fine tannins, like black velvet (and that little boy smile). Long savoury finish with the right amount of sweet fruit kisses and blushes.
RRP: $18
Alc: 14.5%
Chapel Hill, The Parson, Cabernet, McLaren Vale, 2014
Earthy pencil, black unpitted olives, black currant….all stitched in between tannins that move like fine sand paper. Dusty and dark, the acid is a little prominent on the teeth, but would assist in carving through a lamb sandwich perfectly. Value plus.
RRP: $18
Alc: 14.5%
