d’Arenberg, “d’Arry’s Original,” Shiraz Grenache, 2013

Rich plum sauce with distinct Choc/Nut oak. Red currant lift and a touch of herby spearmint. Sandy, yet fine tannins permeate through those plump plum dark fruits. Brash and little rough around the edges, there’s a serious inky undercurrent and it’ll tuck away for 3-5 years. Like sitting in an old couch, it’s good to have the Original back.
