Deakin Estate has recently brought on a new wine maker ready for the 2016 vintage, Aidan Menzies, originally an archaeologist. Their range of everyday drinking wines provide good value.

Deakin Estate, Sauvignon Blanc, Murray Darling, 2015

Exceptionally pale coloured. Light typical tropical aromas of honeydew melon and grassy pea sprouts. Clean lines: same crisp green tropical fruit, slices of honeydew and white melon, even a touch of sweet/tart pineapple core. Finishes neither too tart or green, with plenty of puckering fruity acidity.
