Gewürtztraminer….one of my favourite wine names. I love a good umlaut.
Huntington Estate, Gewürztraminer, Mudgee 2015
Opens with plush rosewater and Turkish Delight, followed by lemon citrus, lychee flesh (rather than the juice). The palate dances between linear, minerally dry white to aromatic, full spiced GWT: the lychee and rosewater retreat to lemon and grape fruit citrus with stony, crisp acidity. Never does this venture to sickly sweet or oily. Almost a dry Semillon finish. Unsure of the intent as to which camp it belongs in, but it works!
RRP: $22
Alc: 11.8%
