The Longview team make a fair swag of wines, but I’ve a soft spot for the Yakka shiraz. Originally tasted blind amongst other 2014 Shiraz.
Longview, Yakka, Shiraz, Adelaide Hills, 2014
Grown at 400 metres above sea level on the estate at Macclesfield. 15-18 Months in new and old French Oak. Dense licorice, cooking chocolate, Chambord deep raspberry jus, pleasant roast coffee bean, 5 spice and cinnamon. Distinct savoury metallic note along with spiced cinnamon plums. Silky, rich mouth feel that is highlighted by black pepper. Solid showing.
