Part of the new Breaking Ground range: the Tempranillo and Graciano, all co-planted with Shiraz in 2011. This was first tasted blind as a curve ball in and amongst a bracket of 2014 Shiraz.
Margan, Breaking Ground, Tempranillo/Graciano/Shiraz, Hunter Valley 2014
Aniseed slickness along with pencils/erasers, chocolate, black jubes and peppery spice. Ripe red/black fruits hug the inside of your mouth with the familiarity of an old friend. Left foot/right foot raspberry/plum with a baton twirl of spice to keep all in check. Acidity is relatively high and the tannins from the Graciano hold fast. Delicious.
RRP: $40
Alc: 14%
