This week saw the Australian Women in Wine Awards held across the nation. Calabria’s Emma Norbiato picked up the “Winemaker of the Year” gong, nudging out some very stiff competition. Congratulations Emma!
Calabria, Cool Climate Series, Tempranillo, Hilltops 2015
Hard to top a temp at this price. meaty blue plums and walnut, before deep leaved cabbage rose, turkish coffee spice and some garam marsala. Palate is appropriately food friendly and grippy, with more dark cherry and plum fruit. The fruit sours and wanes a little towards the medium length finish, but overall, an okay expression for easy BYO night or BBQ afternoon.
RRP: $15
Alc: 14%
