Margan Chardonnay 2016

A lot of Australia forgets that the first commercial Chardonnay in Australia was produced in the Hunter Valley. There’s more than a handful of top notch producers, including Margan still fanning that flame.

Margan, Chardonnay, Hunter Valley 2016

marganchardonnay

Quite yellow in the glass. Oak influence is marked for such a young chardonnay at this price point. Struck match sulfides and citrus fight for dominance beside that oak. Palate sees lemon butter, mandarin and ripe stone fruit before the quartzy, buzzy acidity finalé. Disjointedly youthful and raw. Mid term cellaring option before integration and optimum drinking pleasure.

RRP: $20

Alc: 12.5%
