When the winemakers themselves call this “Thirst quenching…elegant and smashable” it’s hard to top that as a tasting note.
Yelland & Papps Shiraz, Barossa Valley. 2015
Smells like Barossa without overt oak. Sprinkles of white pepper over blackberry, plum, fresh earth and even some star anise. It tastes alive and dances across the palate with those dark fruits and a lightness of being: never bogging itself down in jingoistic ancestry. It’s fresh, even invigorating, and will have you reaching for the bottle.
