From the Hesperia Vineyard in cool climate Tumbarumba. The region was originally planted for Sparkling wine base yet Hungerford Hill use clones 114, 115 and 777 more renown for the ability to create quality table wines.Alright, enough wine nerd talk…..
Hungerford Hill, Pinot Noir, Tumbarumba 2015
Dusty/woody/Grandma’s sideboard aromas with notes of kirsch and blueberry fruit. Rich palate with deep Fruits Of The Forest flavours before lighter strawberry and firm tannins and a cherry wash finish. It’s in the bigger fruit style of Pinot but luckily has not been smashed with oak to try and make Shiraz. Enjoyable for a glass or two.
RRP: $40
Alc 13.4% (or 13.8% or 14.8% depending upon which technical information you read, but 13.4% feels about right.)
