Made by Concha y Toro, South America’s largest wine producer. Concha means “shell,” while concho from Latin America means “dregs,”(as in the rest of a drink in a glass). Smart marketing. But enough of that. Imported into Australia by Pinnacle Drinks (exclusive for Woolworths liquor outlets).
Casillero del Diablo, Pinot Noir, Chile, 2014
Stalky and contrasting bacon aromas before plenty of red fruits. Smells pretty much like pinot noir. Just medium bodied with plenty of cherry/strawberry fruit and some smoky balance. Soft tannins for easy matching lighter meat dishes or antipasti. Tastes like a pinot noir too. Good value.
RRP: $13.99
