De Bortoli, Villages, Chardonnay, Yarra Valley, 2016
Green hue at the edge of the glass: fresh grass, macadamia nuts, creamy stone fruit and a pavlova amalgam (meringue and fruits). Creamy texture and laid back vibe: nothing too edgy or controversial here and still holds a line of quartzy acidity to give a quality spine. Oak spice livens things up on the back palate. A good purchase for those that like their chardonnays a bit richer without muting the fruit.
