An aged release but not yet fully aged. Such a delight to see such a wine in the throes of development: Maturity and youth. Dry grown on a “steep hill rich in quartzite.”
Mitchell, McNicol Riesling, Clare Valley, 2009
Yin/Yang of pure lime and with lime marmalade richness, slate stone and plenty of floral blossom. A powerful front but what a delicate tail. Still refined with chalky talc and pure grape flavour. An elegant, taut, exquisite wine with such a future ahead. Incredible value and a worthy addition to any cellar.
