Singlefile’s flagship red wine. Sourced from the Riversdale vineyard (planted in 1997), this was handpicked and given extended maceration ((5 weeks) to draw out colour and flavour before 15 months maturation in French oak barriques (new, 1 and 2 year old).
Singlefile, The Philip Adrian, Cabernet Sauvignon, Frankland River, 2014
Evocative, regal, elegant. The pure understanding that this is a product of the soil comes from a fresh turned earthiness and dripping with blackberries. Ermine, velvet, crowns. Whatever you associate with a king is appropriate here. Worldly, and yet other worldly this drives forward and commands: garrigue, cassis, coffee grounds. Power tempered with even-handedness: the tannins placate and subdue all that come before them without laying siege, but rather diplomacy. Leave me the bottle to enjoy every long shadow and echo.
