Gundog claim this is their most “classical styled” Semillon. Sourced from the Somerset Vineyard in Pokolbin, “predominately from a 1969 planting,
set over an old creek bed that runs through the property.” It’s no secret that some of the best Hunter semillons are grown right next to a creek or water source.

While this is the most “classical” of the Gundog Hunter sems, the nose seems to have the most fruit richness on the nose: Smokey lemon peel along with lime, subtle vanilla bean with a touch of cinnamon. Familiar bones here: sharp angles with juicy lime and lemon but nothing jarring out of place. Tight lines that are never thin, but carry understated strength. Classical styling for a future Hunter classic.
