George The Wizard, Cabernet Sauvignon, Coonawarra, 2015

Good Coonawarra nose with plenty of mint and eucalypt offsetting the black olive, raspberry and blackberry. Unfortunately it doesn’t translate into the flavours: fruits feel muddled and it seems the wine has competing priorities. There’s a distinct ashen note on the front palate before soft, easy black fruit profile. Tannins seem to be there just for show and fade away quickly. A little disappointing.
