Always like reading the blackboard labels from Y&P: Informative and educational: that’s how we like our wine!
Yelland & Papps, BB, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barossa Valley, 2016

Rich aromas of juice dripping blackberries, tart black currant and with a red currant highlight. Crushed violets, moist pipe tobacco, Easter Egg choc and shiny polish. The oak is kept to a minimum to allow the fruit to take centre stage with the just the right amount of savoury notes as balance. Fruit driven without being jammy cordial: made for drinking with fine subtle tannins. If anything, it feels just a little too slick and smooth….but the intent is clear and the drinking is fine.
