Heartland Wines, Shiraz, Langhorne Creek, 2014
Darkly coloured and almost opaque in the glass. Powerful nose of spiced black fruits with meaty tones, leather, savoury earthy coffee and liberal shakes of white pepper. A silky smooth ride to the dark edge of shiraz town. The lifted and powerful dark fruit glows like light on marble. Vanillan oak ensures there’s a sweet wrapper to the spicy elements. Tannins are just right as they cling to the back of the palate. A rich expression and ready to drink now.
