Gartelmann, Benjamin, Semillon, Hunter Valley, 2017
Difficult to coax much from the glass, but with some urging it offers quintessential Hunter Valley lemon and lime light fruits. Subtle and restrained fruit with quality, balanced, refreshing acidity and a clean pair of heels as it zips along, leaving lingering lemon drop flavours. I’ve no doubt it will blossom with time like most good Hunter Semillons.
