Occasionally, I get caught behind in writing and this is one of those cases. Huntington Estate have just rolled over to the 2014 vintage, but by no means should that preclude you from getting hold of the 2013 if you can.
Huntington Estate, Special Reserve, Shiraz, Mudgee, 2013
Dark garnet colour and starting to deepen around the edges. A darkly spiced nose with plum, blackberry, blueberry, leather, clove, peppercorn, vanilla bean and hints of crushed ant. The alcohol is carried silkily along the full body of plums and dark berries There’s not a beat skipped as the fruit gives way to a substantial amount of fine tannins that carry long. A very good wine that will most certainly enjoy time in the cellar.
