Robert Stein Shiraz 2014

The fruit for this wine comes from a range of blocks of Shiraz across the Stein vineyard. Hand picked, then fermented in traditional open fermenters. A combination of new and seasoned oak hogsheads for 14 months maturation.

Robert Stein, Shiraz, Mudgee, 2014

An almost opaque garnet colour in the glass. The wine takes a while to open up to expose all elements, but starts meaty and leathery before moving to a earthy fruit profile with dark blackberry and plum before vanilla/choc oak eventually pushes through. Starts as a slightly sweet melange of black fruits and a tarry, earthy savoury heart. A multitude of fine tannins support this honest, well made expression.
