From the rockstar team at Shaw + Smith. 2016 was a “warm and fast vintage” before late January rains cooled the region. Fermented and matured on lees in French oak barriques and puncheons.
Shaw and Smith, M3, Chardonnay, Adelaide Hills, 2016
Powerful and intense: with flint, stonefruit, nut meal and even a touch of lime supported by toasty oak nuances. Sweeter elements on the palate of nectarine, peach and butterscotch give depth and richness before the structure and acidity recoil to bring it all under control. The finish is long, fine and crisp. Another excellent release from the S+S team.
