Expressive, aromatic and varietal nose with blackcurrant pastille, cherry, Mint Slice biscuit (chocolate/mint), violets and wisps of pipe smoke.  Firm tannins support the medium plus body with ripe (but not overripe) soft black fruits and echoes of leafy bramble with mocha to finish. Toothsome and flavoursome with good balance. Capable of ageing gracefully.
