Not a lot of Cabernet in the Adelaide Hills. Maturation is 18 months new and old (seasoned) French oak. The feature image is not the Devil’s Elbow near Macclesfield, South Australia…rather Cairnwell Pass in Scotland.
Longview, Devil’s Elbow, Cabernet Sauvignon, Adelaide Hills, 2015
Full nose with ripe blackcurrant, chocolate, varietal mint, and hint of warming fruitcake. Medium-full bodied palate with chocolate, blackcurrant and briary blackberry. Awash with even yet solid tannin and given a push with bright, balanced acidity. Nothing green, lean or awkward here: a generous and rich wine.
