Made by Anthony D’Onise and the O’Dea family from their base in central west New South Wales. 12 months oak maturation.
Windowrie, Family Reserve, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cowra, 2015
Still a youthful bright purple colour. Polished, lifted nose purple and black fruits with blackberry leaf/bramble and chocolate cake oak (but not too much). Carries a savoury edge with tobacco and turned soil. Surprisingly medium bodied. Black and red fruits off-set by savoury herb and a mesh of fine tannin. Unmistakably cabernet. Well made and serious with just enough elegance.
