Pressed into French Oak barriques, partial wild fermentation. Lees stirred weekly, but no malolactic fermentation to preserve primary fruit flavours.
Run Free by Singlefile, Chardonnay, Western Australia, 2017

Good varietal nose: yellow and white stone fruit and roast nutty, barrel ferment characters. The oak delivers a creaminess in lieu of the MLF. Citrus and stonefruit mid palate with nougat richness. The oak feels a touch raw but there’s still plenty of fruit vibrancy to push through it.
